🕌 Ramadan: What your man can and can’t do during the fast

Muslims around the world are preparing for the holy month of Ramadan – the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, which is marked by fasting and reflection.

This year the month may be very different for Muslims across the world, as the traditional gatherings with family and friends to break the fast every night will be put on hold in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. However, if you are still seeing your man or are even quarantening together, there are some stuff you need to know about him and his ways, just to be more respectful and understanding.

Palestinians pray at the al-Khaldi mosque in Gaza City during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

Those who are sane, healthy and have reached puberty are obliged to fast during Ramadan. If someone is unwell or travelling during the month they should not fast – but they will need to fast at a later date instead.

So, what can your man do on Ramadan?

What is he not allowed to do on Ramadan?

Be there for him, be understanding of him and his ways, and never push your agendas on to him. Especially important during these Ramadan days is that you keep your hands to yourself during the daytime and just avoid exhausting him additionally.

To all of our Muslim readers, Ramadan mubarak and all the best!
